My name is Manuela, I'm Portuguese and I have been living in Zanzibar for many years where I'm doing anthropological research and I teach at The State University of Zanzibar, in Stone Town.
I love living beside the beach and since I restored the Baraka Bungalows together with my friend Ahmed, in my free time I can enjoy my favourite activities such as snorkelling, sailing, walking in the incontaminate nature.
When we have guests in the bungalows we become like a big family: for example I personally choose the fresh fruit for breakfast as if I had to prepare it for a dear friend.

Karibu! My name is Ahmed, I'm native from Zanzibar where I have been working in tourism for several years and in different roles. I'm running the newly restored Baraka Bungalows together with Manuela and I take care of everything there: welcome you with a delicious cocktail, prepare the scramble eggs for breakfast and be your personal driver if required.
I love meeting people from all over the world. One of my biggest passions is fishing, and when my guests choose a trip on a dhow with me,  they are in very good hands because I'm a very experienced fisherman. I will also make you discover off the beaten track beautiful spots of my beloved spicy island.
